(Flieger-Erinnerungsabzeichen). Constructed of nickel brass, the obverse consisting of a richly-detailed oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bowtie ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, overlaid by a bronzed eagle in mid-flight over a hollow background, above a rural landscape, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, stamped with a maker’s mark of “C.E. JUNCKER, BERLIN, measuring 45.50 mm (w) x 71.49 mm (h), weighing 28.0 grams, minor oxidation evident, in overall extremely fine condition.
