Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a mobile swastika, overlaid by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching dual lightning bolts, the reverse with two visible rivets holding the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Gebrüder Schneider, Wien, measuring 44.47 mm (w) x 54.23 mm (h), weighing 33.2 grams, period repair is evident to the catch, in overall better than very fine condition.
