Hanover, Kingdom. An Order of St. George, Grand Cross Star (Collectors Copy)

(Sankt Georgs-Orden). Instituted on 23 April 1839. Post-1945 Copy. A silver sight-pointed star, the obverse centre presents a round medallion depicting St. George on horseback in a duel with a green dragon, surrounded by a ring of red enamel inscribed NUNQUAM RETRORSUM (NEVER BACKWARD), reverse presents a principle pin assembly, maker marked P. MEYBAUER BERLIN S.W. 68, measuring 90.18 mm (w) x 88.43 mm (h), weighing 59.6 grams, and in very fine condition.
