A pair of Military Merit Medals, including a Bronze Grade award, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon with sword clasp, the obverse with a raised rightward-facing profile of Emperor Charles I, circumscribed by name and title in Latin, the reverse with a central inscription of “SIGNUM LAUDIS” (“SIGN OF PRAISE”), within a laurel and oak leaf wreath, topped by the imperial crowns of Austria and Hungary, the obverse maker marked “KAUTSCH”, measuring 30.81 mm (w) x 46.20 mm (h), the metal suspension clasp has separated from the ribbon, in overall better than very fine condition, and; a Silver Grade award, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, the obverse with a raised rightward-facing profile of Emperor Charles I, circumscribed by name and title in Latin, the reverse with a central inscription of “SIGNUM LAUDIS” (“SIGN OF PRAISE”), within a laurel and oak leaf wreath, topped by the imperial crowns of Austria and Hungary, the obverse maker marked “KAUTSCH”, measuring 30.76 mm (w) x 46.43 mm (h), in better than very fine condition.
