Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, the obverse with a rightward-facing profile of Emperor Franz Joseph I, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of “DER TAPFERKEIT” (“TO BRAVERY”), within a laurel wreath and above crossed standards, the obverse maker marked “LEISEK”, the edge marked “BRONZE”, measuring 40.30 mm in diameter, moderate loss of gilded finish, in overall better than very fine condition.
