A First War period German brooch constructed from a gilded piece of an artillery shell driving band, featuring an enamelled shield presenting the patriotic tricolours, with the date “1914” to the left and “1916” to the right, the reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 35 mm (w) x 10 mm (h), and in overall near extremely fine condition.
