A First War period German brooch constructed from a gilded piece of an artillery shell driving band, featuring an Imperial Crown at the centre with oak leaves decorating both sides, the reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 35 mm (w) x 8 mm (h), with a black-enamelled Iron Cross suspended below, measures 10 cm (w) x 12 mm (h), and in overall extremely fine condition.
