Germany, Imperial. A Silver Hohenzollern Butter Knife, by Johann Wagner & Sohn

(Buttermesser). Constructed of silver, consisting of a notched blade with a semi-sharpened tip, set into a stylized ribbed handle, the obverse bearing a raised Hohenzollern imperial eagle, the blade with a maker’s mark of “J. WAGNER & SOHN”, a designer’s mark with the logo of Körner & Proll, Berlin, a crescent moon and crown indicating German manufacture, and a silver content number of “800”, measuring 25 mm (w) x 215 mm (l), weighing 65.6 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
