(Orden des Goldenen Adlers in Gold). An unusual example of the Order of the Golden Eagle, constructed of solid 18 karat Gold with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with red enameled arms, with the three, six, and nine o’clock arms completing in a stylized Gold horn, and the twelve o’clock arm with an integral suspension loop, the quadrants of the cross joined by richly-detailed imperial eagles, the obverse with a central green enameled medallion bearing a raised monogram of King Wilhelm II, the reverse with an analogous green enameled medallion bearing three Gold horns, measuring 68.83 mm (w) x 67.79 mm (h), weighing 59.2 grams, single separation between 6 o'clock arm and 4 o'clock eagle wing, otherwise in extremely fine condition. Footnote: This Order was established however, never produced. This example is likely an exhibition/museum display piece, manufactured in the 20th Century.
