Germany, Third Reich. A Reich Sports Honour Medal, by L. Christian Lauer

(Reichssport Ehrenabzeichen). Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a leftward-facing profile of Hans von Tschammer zu Osten, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of “IN ANERKENNUNG EINER HERVORRAGENDEN LEISTUNG GEGEBEN VOM REICHSSPORTFÜHRER” (“IN RECOGNITION OF AN EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE GIVEN BY A REICH SPORTS LEADER”), with a maker’s mark of “L. CHR. LAUER, NÜRNBERG”, measuring 50 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
