Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from a rifle clasp and period original ribbon with a horizontal pinback, the obverse with a central raised depiction of a Marine manning a cannon, within a stylized anchor, circumscribed by an inscription of “UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS” and above an inscription of “SEMPER FIDELIS” (“ALWAYS FAITHFUL”), the reverse with an etched dedication of “NO. 76981 ERNEST F. MITCHELL, 2ND ENLISTMENT 1921-1924”, circumscribed by a raised inscription of “FIDELITY, ZEAL, OBEDIENCE”, unmarked, measuring 33.5 mm in diameter, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of off-white card stock, the lid with a label bearing an inscription of “MARINE CORPS GOOD CONDUCT”, unmarked, measuring 80 mm (w) x 48 mm (l) x 14 mm (h), material fatigue evident to the presentation case, in overall better than very fine condition.
