Germany, Imperial. A Braunschweig Peninsula War Centenary Medal

(Braunschweig Jubiläumsmedaille). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of Duke Friedrich Wilhelm of Braunschweig, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with the Totenkopf insignia of the 17th Hussar Regiment, above an inscription of “PENINSULA” and dates “1809-1909”, unmarked, measuring 35 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.
