In browning copper, maker marked "P.W. ELLIS & CO. LTD 1916" on the reverse, measuring 52.7 mm (w) x 45.2 mm (h), both lugs intact, the top tip of the leaf bent to the left, the leaf missing its stem, contact marks, fine.
Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Grey County, Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Owen Sound under the authority of G.O. 151, December 22, 1915. The Battalion sailed November 14, 1916 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel G.F. McFarlane with a strength of 32 officers and 910 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 8th Reserve Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
