Germany, Heer. A Krim Shield

(Krimschild). Constructed of bronze, affixed to a field-grey wool backer with all four attachment prongs intact, the obverse consisting of a shield with a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by dates “1941-1942” and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 51.50 mm (w) x 62.04 mm (h), moderate oxidation evident, in overall very fine condition.
