Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge by Steinhauer & Lück

(Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a finely-detailed Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, all over a hollow background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 42.47 mm (w) x 53.00 mm (h), weighing 31.5 grams, in extremely fine condition.
