Germany, Third Reich. An Honour Cross of the German Mother, Silver Grade, with Miniature

(Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter in Silber mit Miniatur). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Latin Cross, the obverse with blue and white enameled arms, with a central white enameled disc bearing a black swastika, circumscribed by a raised inscription of “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (“THE GERMAN MOTHER”), with radiant designs emanating from the quadrants, the reverse with an institution date of “16. DEZEMBER 1938” and a facsimile of the Führer, measuring 36 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), accompanied by its miniature, of identical construction and composition, on loop for suspension from its period original bowtie-style ribbon with horizontal pinback, measuring 18 mm (w) x 24 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
