A heavy round solid silver medal; the obverse with an eagle with a shield on its chest depicting a mobile swastika; the reverse inscribed “Für rettung aus Gefahr” (German - For rescue from danger); measuring 49.9 mm in diameter; weighing 54.2 grams. Accompanied by its case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper, with a black lightly textured faux leather (leatherette) exterior; with a lined interior lid, a recessed medal bed, a functional spring catch with stud release, an intact interior fabric hinge cover, and a functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 71 mm (w) x 70 mm (h); in overall near mint condition. These medals were manufactured in Prussian State mint.
