Germany, Wehrmacht. An Eastern Front Medal by Katz & Deyhle

(Ostmedaille). Constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse with an inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”), the suspension loop marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “60” for maker Katz & Deyhle, Pforzheim, measuring 25.92 mm (w) x 44.29 mm (h), weighing 17.7 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
