Saxony, Kingdom. A Friedrich August Medal, Silver, with World War Clasp

(Friedrich August Medaille in Silber). Instituted 23 April 1905 by King Friedrich August III. (1905-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with “WELTKRIEG 1914-1916” (“WORLD WAR 1914-1916”) clasp, the obverse with a central wreathed monogram of King Friedrich August III, the reverse with an inscription of “FRIEDRICH AUGUST MEDAILLE”, within a wreathed of stylized oak leaves, unmarked, measuring 28.48 mm in diameter, weighing 15.8 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
