Constructed of bronze, the obverse with a rightward-facing profile of Wilhelm II circumscribed by name and title, the revere with a central pigeon flying over a fortified landscape, above crossed feathers, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE UM DAS MILITAIR-BRIEFTAUBENWESEN” (“FOR MERIT IN MILITARY PIGEONRY”), maker marked on the obverse “E. WEIGAND F.”, measuring 41.09 mm in diameter, weighing 33.3 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the interior with a blue satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a depressed blue velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 70 mm (w) x 70 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), minor material fatigue evident to the presentation case, in overall near extremely fine condition,
