A round gilt bronze medal; the obverse depicting the rightward facing bust of Kaiser Franz Joseph, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse inscribed “Der Tapferkeit” (German - For Bravery), within a laurel wreath, marked bronze on edge, on a loop for suspension from a period ribbon with a single clasp; measuring 40.26 mm in diameter; in overall near very fine condition.
