Germany, Luftwaffe. A Front Flying Clasp for Transport Pilots, with Hanger, Gold Grade

(Frontflugspange für Transport und Luftlandflieger mit Anhänger). Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse with a central laurel wreath overlaid by a magnetic metal Luftwaffe eagle in mid-flight clutching a mobile swastika, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, with dual loops accommodating a hanger bearing a central radiant star flanked by laurel leaves, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with a central visible rivet securing the obverse eagle in place, unmarked, measuring 77.43 mm (w) x 25.90 mm (h), weighing 22.4 grams, some loss of gilt finish evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
