(Krieger-Verdienstmedaille). Instituted 1835 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1873-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a central inscription of “KRIEGER VERDIENST” (“WARRIOR MERIT”), within a laurel wreath, the reverse with a monogram of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, unmarked, measuring 25.48 mm in diameter, weighing 6.9 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
