(Verdienst-Ehrenzeichen für Rettung aus Gefahr). Instituted 1 February 1833 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1875-1907 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central inscription of “FÜR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR” (“FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER”), unmarked, measuring 24.34 mm in diameter, weighing 8.3 (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
