Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension, the obverse with a raised rightward-facing profile of Duke Carl Eduard, circumscribed by name and title, topped by a royal crown, the reverse with a central Saxe-Coburg and Gotha coat of arms, topped by an inscription of “FUER VERDIENST” (“FOR MERIT”), above a banner bearing an inscription of “TREU UND BESTAENDIG” (“FAITHFUL AND ENDURING”), measuring 32.98 mm (w) x 52.59 mm (h), weighing 20.7 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
