Germany, Wehrmacht. A Core for a 1939 Iron Cross II Class

(Eisernes Kreuz 1939 II. Klasse Herzstück). Constructed of blackened magnetic iron, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, unmarked, measuring 38.22 mm (w) x 38.10 mm (h), weighing 10.6 grams, in very fine condition.
