(Roter Adlerorden, III. Klasse in Gold mit Etui). Instituted on 12 June 1792 by King Friedrich Wilhelm II. (1854-1918 issue). Constructed of Gold with enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with white enameled arms, the obverse with a central white enameled medallion bearing a detailed hand-pointed Prussian imperial eagle, within a Gold ring, the reverse with a central white enameled medallion bearing a gilt monogram of King Friedrich Wilhelm II, within a Gold ring, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop and suspension ring connecting to a period original ribbon, measuring 38.13 mm (w) x 42.20 mm (h), weighing 14.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux red leather exterior, the interior with a padded black satin lid liner and a slotted black velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 55 mm (l) x 24 mm (h), some material fatigue evident to the case, in extremely fine condition.
