Constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with red enameled arms, the obverse with a central red enameled medallion overlaid by a gilt Bulgarian lion rampant, within a ring of white enamel bearing an inscription of “ЗА ХРАБРОСТЬ 1941” (“FOR BRAVERY 1941”), the reverse with a central red enameled disc bearing a gilt monogram of Prince Alexander, within a ring of white enamel bearing an inscription of “КНЯАЗЬ НА БЪЛГАРИЯ 1879” (“PRINCE OF BULGARIA 1879”), measuring 39.67 mm (w) x 41.94 mm (h), weighing 16.7 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior, the exterior lid with a royal monogram and order title in Bulgarian Cyrillic, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner, with a depressed green velvet medal bed, opening with a functional bronze snap button and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 98 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), also accompanied by its award document, constructed of off-white paper with black ink, named to “OBERGEFREITEN REHWOLDT, 4./PZ.A.N.R. 1”, awarded on 10 December 1941 and bestowed on 28 February 1942, measuring 210 mm (w) x 148 mm (h), some tarnishing and chipping of enamels evident to the cross, with material fatigue of the case and award document also apparent, in overall better than very fine condition.
