Germany, Heer. An Infantry Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, by Josef Feix & Söhne

(Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika and joined together at the bottom by a bowtie ribbon, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Josef Feix & Söhne, Gablonz, measuring 48.45 mm (w) x 61.58 mm (h), weighing 26.3 grams, minor loss of finish is evident, in overall extremely fine condition.
