Saxe-Altenburg, Duchy. A 30-Year Long Service Cross for Female Servants, c.1900

(Ehrenauszeichnung für Dienstboten 30 Jahre). Instituted 16 September 1886 by Duke Ernst I. (1895-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Shamrock Cross, the obverse with a central raised number “30”, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR TREUE IN DER ARBEIT” (“FOR FAITHFUL LABOUR”), the reverse with a central raised monogram of Duke Ernst I, unmarked, measuring 44.30 mm (w) x 47.85 mm (h), weighing 19.0 grams, in extremely fine condition.
