(Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse). Instituted 18 January 1810 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1810-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a central inscription of “VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT” (“SERVICE TO THE STATE”), within a laurel wreath, the reverse with a monogram of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, unmarked, measuring 39.18 mm in diameter, weighing 22.9 grams, some age-appropriate tarnishing evident, in near extremely fine condition.
