Germany, Third Reich. A 1937 Free City of Lübeck Faithful Service Medal to Rudolf Pöhlsen

(Freie und Hansestadt Lübeck Medaille für Treue Dienst). Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse with a raised and finely-detailed Lübeck coat of arms, circumscribed by an inscription of “DER SENAT DER FREIEN UND HANSESTADT LÜBECK” (“THE SENATE OF THE FREE AND HANSEATIC CITY OF LÜBECK”), the reverse with a circular wreath, bearing a central inscription of “DEM SCHAFFNER RUDOLF PÖHLSEN FÜR TREUE IM DIENSTE 25. APRIL 1937” (“TO CONDUCTOR RUDOLF PÖHLSEN, FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE, 25 APRIL 1937”), unmarked, measuring 50.95 mm in diameter, weighing 52.6 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
