Instituted in 1801. Type V (Tsar Nicholas II, 1894-1917). In silver, Kokoshnik assay marked with a woman's head, with the St. Petersburg assay office mark to the left and the zolotniki fineness number "84" to the right, along with the maker mark "ДК" (DK) on the reverse, measuring 28.2 mm (w), very light contact, replacement ribbon, near extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The medal was first instituted on December 30, 1801 during the reign of Tsar Alexander I. After the death of Tsar Alexander III, the medal was re-designed and issued around 1894 bearing the semblance of the new sovereign, Tsar Nicholas II. The medal was awarded to civilians that had shown exceptional zeal in the trade, production and social fields, as well as to military personnel for zealous service, in two grades: Gold and Silver.
