Kuwait, State. An Order of Kuwait, III Class Commander, c.1975

(Wisam al-Kuwait). Instituted in 1974. Five-piece construction, in bronze gilt with red, white, green, light blue and black enamels, measuring 48 mm (w) x 50.5 mm (h), intact enamels, missing its centrepiece plate on the reverse, on a replacement incorrect full-length neck ribbon with hook and eye, very fine.

Footnote: The Order of Kuwait is an award given by the State of Kuwait. It ranks below the Order of Mubarak the Great. The Order of Kuwait was founded in 1974 by Amir Sabah III and was reformed and modified in 1991. It is awarded "For outstanding service to the nation".
