Germany, Weimar Republic. A German Field Honour Badge

(Deutsches-Feld-Ehrenzeichen). Instituted 1920. (1920-1933 issue). Constructed of silvered and gilded bronze with enamels, consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, the obverse overlaid by white enameled Cross Pattée, with a central oval medallion bearing a raised Heer soldier, within a gilded and pebbled ring, with crossed swords through the centre, the reverse with a block hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, marked “DEUTSCHES-FELD-EHRENZEICHEN, HAMBURG 11”, measuring 52.57 mm (w) x 63.89 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
