A bronze cross paty, the obverse bears a crowned anchor in the centre encompassed by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the bottom, two upward-pointing crossed swords lay between the cross arms, the 12 o’clock arm inscribed with “Zur See”, the 9 o’clock arm inscribed with “Umbe-”, the 3 o’clock arm inscribed with “siegt” and the 6 o’clock arm inscribed with “Im Felde” (Undefeated from the ocean to the field), the reverse centre bears a 1903 pattern Imperial German Naval Ensign (Reichskriegsflagge) encompassed by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the bottom, the 12 o’clock arm bearing a Flemish lion, the 9 o'clock arm is inscribed with “MARINE”, the 3 o’clock arm inscribed with “KORPS” and the 6 o’clock arm inscribed wit “1914/18”, with suspension ring on black, white and orange striped ribbon, measuring 40.01 mm (w) x 44.55 mm (h), very fine.
