Germany, Third Reich. A Reichsnährstands Exhibition Table Medal for Fresh Butter, c.1939

(S. Reichsnährstands-Ausstellung Leipzig 1939). A circular medal constructed of bronze, the obverse centre bears a bar with “Blut und Boden” (Blood and Soil) inscribed in the centre with a right-facing eagle perched on top and below a swastika with a sword and sheaf of wheat diagonally placed over top and an oak leaf on either side, circumscribed with “S. Reichsnährstands-Ausstellung Leipzig 1939” ( Reichsnährstands Exhibition Leipzig 1939), the reverse bears an open ended wreath of various foodstuffs tied with a ribbon at the top encompassing “Frischbutter” (Fresh butter), measuring 38.15 mm, weighing 19.9 g, very fine.
