In bronze gilt, weighing 279 grams, obverse illustrating a map of the Koreas, with "SEOUL" and the "DMZ" marked on the map and bearing the title "THE FRONTIER OF FREEDOM" above, within a border of tiny beads, surrounded by the inscription "REPUBLIC OF KOREA ARMY / GEN CHUNG HO YONG, CHIEF OF STAFF", within a raised beaded border of large beads, reverse illustrating a taeguk, representing peace and harmony, backed by a multi-rayed pentagon, with a circular frame, enclosed in an open-ended wreath with a bow-tie at its base, within a border of tiny beads, surrounded by the matching inscriptions in Korean as that used on the English side, with stars separating the inscriptions, within a raised beaded border of large beads, measuring 73 mm in diameter, spotting, light contact, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, exterior in red felt, inside lid in white satin, base with a recessed medal bed in red felt, case also near extremely fine.
