Lubeck, Free City. A Loyalty in the Service Medal, to Karl Heinrich Friedrich Dreyer, c.1925

A circular medal constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse with a raised and finely-detailed Lübeck coat of arms, circumscribed by an inscription of “DER SENAT DER FREIEN UND HANSESTADT LÜBECK” (“THE SENATE OF THE FREE AND HANSEATIC CITY OF LÜBECK”), the reverse bears a wreath of oak leaves tied with a ribbon at the bottom, the centre bears the inscription “DEM KANALWARTER KARL HEINR. FRIED. DREYER FUR TREUE DIENSTE 24 FEBRUAR 1925” (THE CANAL KEEPER KARL HEINRICH FRIEDRICH DREYER FOR LOYALTY IN THE SERVICE 24 FEBRUARY 1925), the obverse maker marked “G. LOOS. D”, measuring 50.98 mm, weighing 66.6 g, very fine.
