In sterling silver, maker marked "MAPPIN" and marked "STERLING" on the sterling silver lip on the bottom, lid bearing The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada insignia and engraved in running script "To Capt. William A. Wood on the occasion of his Marriage / August 22nd 1942. / From his Brother Officers of The Black Watch (R.H.R) of Canada", fabric bottom, wood-lined on the inside lid and in the base, lift tab on the front of the lid, full-length hinge along the back edge, measuring 109 mm in width x 90 mm in depth x 40.5 mm in height, one small indentation on the lid, light staining evident on the wood lining, near extremely fine. Accompanied by a Sweetheart Badge (two-piece construction, The Black Watch of Canada insignia in sterling silver gilt with blue enamels, mounted to a sterling silver base, maker marked "MAPPIN." and marked "STERLING" on the reverse, measuring 28.3 mm (w) x 36 mm (h), horizontal pinback, intact enamels); and a Sweetheart Ring (two-piece construction, The Black Watch of Canada insignia in silver with blue enamels forming the face plate, mounted to a ring base, maker marked "BIRKS", marked "STERLING", "GSF" and "TOP" on the inside of the ring, measuring 16.5 mm in diameter, scattered chipping evident in the blue enamels).
