(Nahkampfspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse with a central Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a bayonet and stick grenade, within a square oak leaf wreath, with sun rays emanating from the centre of the left and right sides, and with four oak leaves and two acorns on each side, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with a magnetic metal centerpiece backer, the reverse designer marked “W.E. PEEKHAUS, BERLIN” and maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 96.60 mm (w) x 26.00 mm (h), weighing 34.0 grams, most of the bronze finish has been lost and age-appropriate oxidation is evident, in overall very fine condition.
