(Ordin "Steaua Romaniei"). Instituted in 1877. Type II (1932-1947). In silvered bronze with red, green and blue enamels, cypher of Carol I on the obverse centrepiece, measuring 14.2 mm (w) x 21 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, chipping evident in the blue enamels on the arm at 12 o'clock on the obverse, ring suspension, very fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Star of Romania is Romania's highest civil Order and second highest State decoration after the defunct Order of Michael the Brave. It was originally awarded in six grades: Grand Cross with Collar, Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
