(Hanseatenkreuz). Instituted 21 August 1915. A straight armed cross paty with slightly concave ends to the arm, constructed of silver, the obverse arms are red enamel, the centre bears a Lubeck coat of arms in black, white and red enamel, the reverse centre bears the inscription “Für Verdienst im Kriege 1914” (For Merit in the War 1914), measuring 40.10 mm (w) x 44 mm (h), with suspension ring on a metal backed white and red striped ribbon (faded), very fine.
