Baden, Grand Duchy. A Silver Merit Medal of Friedrich II, c.1915

(Silberne Verdienstmedaille Friedrich II). A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears the left facing portrait of Friedrich II in uniform, circumscribed with “FRIEDRICH II GROSSHERZOG VON BADEN” (FRIEDRICH II GRAND DUKE OF BADEN), the reverse bears the inscription “FÜR VERDIENST” (FOR MERIT) encompassed by an oak leaf wreath, with an elongated suspension loop, measuring 38.19 mm (w) x 41.38 mm (h), weighing 30.5 g, on a yellow ribbon, very fine.
