(Verwundeten-Abzeichen). Instituted by Emperor Wilhelm II on 3 March 1918. A top quality badge featuring an ovular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears a helmet superimposed on two upwards facing crossed swords on a pebbled background, encompassed by a laurel wreath border tied with a ribbon at the bottom, the reverse is plain and bears a vertical pinback with flat wire catch, marked “800” on the pinback arm, measuring 38.57 mm (w) x 43.30 mm (h), weighing 10.6 g, very fine.
