Aeronautical Medal (Médaille de l'Aéronautique). Instituted in 1945 (in bronze gilt with red enamels, measuring 26.8 mm (w) x 35.5 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, intact enamels, original ribbon); and Order of Merit for Tourism, III Class Knight (Ordre du Mérite Touristique, Chevalier). Instituted in 1949 (in silvered bronze, cornucopia hallmarked and marked "BR" (bronze) on the edge, engraver marked "POILLERAT" on the reverse, measuring 31.2 mm (w) x 42.3 mm (h), contact marks on the reverse, original ribbon). Extremely fine and better than very fine, respectively.
Footnote: The Aeronautical Medal was instituted on February 14, 1945 and awarded to both military personnel and civilians for outstanding accomplishments related to the field of aeronautics. The Order of Merit for Tourism was instituted on May 27, 1949 and discontinued on January 1, 1964, replaced by the National Order of Merit. It was awarded for meritorious services to tourism in France, in three grades: Commander, Officer and Knight.
