(Médaille d'honneur de l'aéronautique). Instituted in 1921. Type II (1932-1978). Silver Gilt Grade for Thirty-Five Years' Service. In silver gilt, dual cornucopia hallmarked and marked with a "1" between the cornucopias on the edge, engraver marked "MORLON" on the obverse, engraved to "L. GIORDANO 1970" on the reverse, measuring 35.7 mm in diameter, edge nicks, light contact, scattered gilt wear, silver gilt Aeronautical "A" clasp on its original ribbon, near extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The Medal of Honour for Aeronautics was created by decree of January 12 , 1921. It rewards, in view of their quality and duration, the services rendered in their employment by the personnel working in the civil aviation and meteorological services, the medal issued by either the Ministry of Defence or the Ministry of Transport. The rewarding is done according to seniority: Bronze Grade: awarded after twenty-five years' service; Silver Grade: awarded to bronze medal recipients with thirty years' service; Silver Gilt Grade: awarded to medal recipients of the two previous levels with thirty-five years' service; and Gold Grade: awarded to medal recipients of the three previous levels with forty years' service.
