Germany, Imperial. A Submarine (U-Boat) Badge

(U-Boot Kriegsabzeichen). An ovular badge constructed of die stamped bronze, the obverse centre bears a submarine on a cut-out background, encompassed by a laurel wreath border topped by a German State Crown, the reverse is plain and bears a soldered magnetic horizontal pinback with round wire catch, measuring 50.16 mm (w) x 48.11 mm (h), unmarked, very fine.
