Germany, Deutsches Jägerschaft. A (German Hunting Society) International Exhibition Medallion, c.1937

A circular medal constructed of cuppal, the obverse centre bears a deer skull with beams and a swastika between the antlers, the head rests upon a banner with the cipher “DJ” (Deutsche Jägerschaft), the reverse centre bears the inscription “LANDER PRÄMIERUNG OESTERREICH” (COUNTRY PREMIUM AUSTRIA) and a sprig of laurel, circumscribed with “INTERNATIONALE JAGDAUSSTELLUNG BERLIN 1937” (INTERNATIONAL HUNTING EXHIBITION BERLIN 1937), measuring 39.91 mm, on a chain with a spring ring clasp, very fine.
