Instituted in 1926. Type I (1945-1970). In silver gilt with red, white, light blue, green and yellow enamels, number engraved "404" on the reverse, measuring 49.7 mm (w) x 47.7 mm (h), screwback, intact enamels, contact marks evident on the rider and other characters on the centrepiece and on one of the gilt rays, very fine.

 

Footnote: The Order of the Red Banner of Labour Valour was instituted in 1926 as the Order of Literacy Valour. It was re-named the Order of Civil Valour in 1931, then re-named again, this time as the Order of the Red Banner of Labour Valour in 1945. It was awarded for services in education, agriculture, health and industry.
